Authorization to work in Canada.

Cohen Immigration Law advises employers and workers on Labour Market Impact Assessments, LMIA-exempt work permits, intra-company transfers, and post-graduation work permits for graduates of Canadian designated learning institutions.

The practice

Most foreign nationals require authorization before working in Canada. That authorization may rest on a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment, an LMIA exemption under a free-trade agreement or federal program, or a post-graduation work permit following studies at a designated learning institution.

Employer-driven files require coordination between recruitment evidence, job offer terms, and the worker’s admissibility. Worker-driven files require a clear link between the permit category, the occupation, and the client’s history in Canada or abroad.
