Founders and investors.

Cohen Immigration Law advises entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate transferees on Quebec business programs, C-11 entrepreneur work permits, and intra-company transfers. Federal Start-Up Visa and Self-Employed Persons applications already filed remain in process; new intake under those programs is paused.

The practice

Business immigration covers both permanent residence for investors and entrepreneurs and temporary work permits that allow founders to establish or operate a business in Canada while a longer-term status is pursued.

Quebec maintains distinct investor and entrepreneur streams under its own selection rules. At the federal level, the C-11 entrepreneur category remains available for owner-operators whose business will generate significant economic benefit.

Corporate clients often require a sequence: intra-company transfer or C-11 work permit first, provincial nomination or permanent residence second. The firm structures the sequence so early permits do not foreclose later permanent residence options.
