The practice
Federal economic immigration is the principal route by which skilled workers, experienced professionals, and qualified tradespeople obtain permanent residence outside a provincial nomination or family sponsorship.
Most pathways run through Express Entry, IRCC’s electronic management system for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Category-based selection rounds have added occupation-specific draws to the traditional Comprehensive Ranking System pool, and a profile that qualified under one draw may not receive an invitation under another. The firm’s work here is to match the client’s credentials to the pathway IRCC is actually selecting, and to keep the underlying application defensible if the criteria shift.
